Fascia

Fascia is directly above the soffit. It is the section of siding that can be seen on the front of your roof’s overhang, where your gutters are mounted. Fascia needs to be in good shape to keep your gutters properly secured and to provide additional support for your roof. Plus, because fascia is visible from the street, it affects your home’s curb appeal, so keeping it well-maintained is important.

The fascia is the flat, continuous piece of trim molding that is next to and perpendicular to a ceiling soffit. Sometimes fascia boards need to be replaced due to weather damage, or over time they pull away from the gutters. They’re also subject to damage from bird nests, bee holes, and squirrel holes.

Some early warning signs that your fascias need repair are: leaking gutters, rotting or sagging wood or roof ends, and damp patches appearing on your interior walls. The longer you wait to call us in for repair, the greater your risk of attracting a host of unpleasant — and more expensive — problems such as woodworms, dry rot, and even maggots.
